ARPC Polo Director: Jolie Liston

Jolie Liston, the polo director and primary instructor at the Atlanta Regional Polo Center, has been around horses as long as she can remember. Like many horse professionals, Jolie started riding at an early age and was first introduced to polo by her father, Paul, at the age of 12.
Upon graduating high school, Jolie attended Emory University, in Atlanta, Georgia, where she received a BA in Psychology, class of 1990. In 1991 and 1992, Jolie continued her education at the University of Georgia where she studied Animal Science for two years and played polo at the intercollegiate level. Shortly thereafter, Jolie was fortunate enough to spend six winter seasons in Florida where she played with and competed against some of the top players in the sport. All that hard work paid off, when Jolie received the IWPA Woman Player of the Year award in 2000.
Polo has taken Jolie across the U.S. and all over the world. She has played in Africa, Argentina, England, Holland, Jamaica, Barbados and the Dominican Republic. After all of that traveling, Jolie has found her way back home to Georgia, where she is devoting herself, full time, to building the best polo training facility in the area.
Assistant Polo Director & Instructor: Liz Holson

Elizabeth Holson came to the Atlanta Regional Polo Center from Vermont, where she was hooked on horses at an early age. Her family jokes that she would fall asleep on ponies in her pajamas. Holson spent her time as an adolescent perusing three-day eventing and participating in Pony Club.
Holson took up polo her freshman year at Skidmore College, in Saratoga Springs, New York, where she quickly became attracted to the sport and dedicated the majority of her time to the intercollegiate polo team. She spent three years working as the barn manager and captain of the women's polo team. Throughout college, Holson spent summers and breaks playing outdoor polo in New England, New York, and Texas. After graduating in 2009 Holson moved to Aiken, South Carolina where she spent time grooming and riding. Holson started working at the ARPC in July and is excited to be part of the team!
